Examination Gloves

Examination Gloves

The need for disposable gloves for the safety of healthcare personnel is an undeniable fact. Medical gloves, also known as examination gloves, are an indispensable Personal Protective Equipment element for people working in different branches of various health centres.

Examination gloves not only protect the wearer, but also create a safe working environment and facilitate work for both healthcare workers and patients. All medical gloves are disposable and are available in a variety of materials. The materials from which medical gloves are made are materials such as latex, nitrile and vinyl. Depending on the level of protection needed, it can be decided which material glove is preferred.

Some medical gloves are powdered for easy donning and doffing. However, powdered gloves can cause some irritation on the skin and prolong the healing time of these wounds. Moreover, powdered gloves are more allergenic. For these reasons, users may want to consider powder-free glove options. Examination gloves are also available with roughened fingertips for easier handling of objects.

Latex Examination Gloves

Disposable latex gloves not only help keep workplaces, materials and surfaces free from contamination, but also protect workers themselves. Latex gloves are an effective barrier for hands and wrists against certain chemicals, including detergents, alcohols, biological hazards such as viruses and bacteria, body fluids, corrosive substances and more. Latex gloves offer better grip and dexterity.

Nitrile Examination Gloves

Nitrile examination gloves protect the hands of healthcare workers from contamination and also prevent the transmission of bacteria to items and surfaces touched by the user. Nitrile examination gloves are waterproof, oil-proof and most importantly resistant to a range of hazardous chemicals and substances. Nitrile gloves are also widely used in the healthcare industry due to their high puncture resistance and durability.

Vinyl Examination Gloves

Vinyl gloves are made of PVC, a petroleum-based film. The main advantage of disposable vinyl gloves is their low cost. However, they are less durable than nitrile and latex gloves. Provides protection against chemical and biomedical exposure but not recommended for contact with hazardous chemicals.
