Glove Production with EN 407 Standard

Glove Production with EN 407 Standard

Gloves with EN 407 standard are types of gloves that provide protection against thermal hazards. With the use of these gloves, the risk of thermal injury is minimised.

EN 407 gloves are manufactured to be suitable for hot weather conditions and high temperature working environments. Gloves with EN 407 standard, which are produced using heat-insulating materials, are evaluated in 6 categories according to their level of protection. Accordingly, the 6-digit numbers under the EN 407 symbol are as follows:

a. Resistance to ignition
b. Contact heat resistance
c. Convective heat resistance
d. Radiant heat resistance
e. Resistance to small splashes from molten metal
f. Resistance to large splashes from molten metal

Gloves tested in each of the above categories are rated at performance levels 0 to 4 and must achieve at least level 1 performance to pass.

Working in environments with high heat and heat flow causes burns. Fingers can be seriously damaged in a job, especially in contact with high-temperature tools. Against such risks, gloves with EN407 standard have protective properties that are important for human life.

The production phase of EN 407 gloves is extremely meticulous. Glove manufacturers should follow the latest production updates. Gloves with EN 407 standard and products with hand protective qualities have recently been revised. Especially for personal use, these gloves have been renewed with the latest updates.

The tests developed in accordance with EN 407:2020 have introduced new principles. Accordingly, the following performance factors are measured with the new tests:

  • Flammability Resistance
  • Contact Heat Resistance
  • Convective Heat Resistance
  • Radiant Heat Resistance
  • Resistance to Small-Scale Splashes of Corroded Metal
  • Resistance to Large Amounts of Molten Metal

Such tests are developed after detailed researches in order for the glove to have a greater safety. Beybi gloves are also subjected to tests according to the performance factors listed above in order to comply with the world standards. Thus, it is aimed to protect users against combustion risks in the best way.

Beybi Eco Welder Gloves and Argon Welder Gloves have EN407 standard and can be safely preferred in applications requiring heat and flame resistance.

Beybi Plastik has been operating in the field of personal protective work safety gloves, production and sales of examination gloves, sterile surgical gloves and medical consumables sales and marketing since its establishment in 1949.
